Beverly Hills Hotel

Beverly Hills Hotel

Beverly Hills Hotel by mihaya featuring MIMOSAS

So i'll been a little too busy at work and as an activist (I think i'll post something about that later) and today I finally got some free time to post.

This days have been really hot and today I was (still am) craving for a cold, bubbly mimosa... That mimosa got me thinking about Hunther S. Thompson (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas) and his time at the Beverly Hills Hotel Back in the 70's.

Ofcourse, insted of mimosas he was drinking singapore slings, mezcal and LSD... but really who cares.. a morning drink is a morning drink, right?

This set is inspired by the coloros and vibe of the Beverly Hills Hotel specially at the 70's, a nice hot afternoon by the pool with not a care in the world.. and of course.. MIMOSAS.

I just LOVE HBC, and i love the quirkyness that Polansky uses. Lovely

Rick Genest for Dermablend

I know this is not new, but I just found it and I'm pretty sure not everybody has seen it.

Rick Genest a.k.a "Zombie Boy", the IT Boy of Thierry Mugler / Nicola Formichetti participated in DERMABLEND's ad campaign for their body and leg cover makeup.

As you know, Rick Genest, model, performer and muse if fully covered, (well about 80% of his body) covered in tattoos of intricate designs of a skeleton, skull and rotting body.
The challenge was tu use DERMABLEND makeup to cover his tattoos and show how Rick looked before Zombie Boy.

Here's the  video, and some pictures.

I think the transformation is amazing, and about Dermablend makeup, I'm totally convinced, perhaps I purchase some, this days Mexico City is really hot, and mosquitoes are going crazy, my legs look like i just had the chicken pox... If that makeup fully covered Rick's tattooed body, I think it can hide my mosquito bites just as well.

A very femenine look for a luch date, or an afternoon downtown. Don't you just love the one of a kind necklace?

Chrisitan Louboutin at the London Design Museum

For 10 days now, the London Design Museum is presenting iconic French shoe designer Christian Louboutin retrospective.

Louboutin’s exquisite shoes, with their instantly recognisable glossy red soles, are a unique fusion of fashion, craftsmanship, engineering and sculpture. This exhibition celebrates Louboutin’s career to date and showcases twenty years of designs and inspiration, revealing the artistry and theatricality of his shoe design from stilettos to lace-up boots, studded sneakers and bejewelled pumps. Louboutin’s shoes are the epitome of style, glamour, power, femininity and elegance.

We all love shoes. Don't we? So being able to dive into Louboutin's shoe history is kind of a must in fashion. I live here the trailer of the exhibition, if you are in London or planning to go there the next two months you can't skip the opportunity  to pay a visit to the wonderful, magical world of Louboutin.

Andy Warhol's Bazaar Years

Yesterday night Harper's Bazaar Mexico and Latin America celebrated their 33rd Anniversary in a big way with the opening of Andy Warhol's Bazaar Years 1951 - 1964 exposition at SHCP Art Museum.

Some of the less known work of this prolific, iconic plastic artists of the XX century.

Illustrations of beauty products, jewlery, perfumes and shoes were the main characters of Warhol's work for Harper's Bazaar , before he became a re known  name in the art circuit.

His pre Pop years, less satiric, but with his unmistakebla touch, splashes of bold colors, stencil like pictures and tons of style
“Everyone will be famous for 15 minutes.”

Andy Warhol came to Camel ___ in 1951 with nothing to loose and everything to win, he made an impression and colaboreted with Harper's Bazaar for over a decade, thanks to this we can meet the firts stage of Warhol's ascending career.

This event was catered by Jaso a fusion cuisine restaurant in Polanco. hundereads of pop inspired deserts, Mailyn Monroe Cupcakes, Banana tarts, colorfull macaroons and many other delicious treats.

Doesn't this look yummie? I guarantee they totally were!

Fashion editors, designers, artists and fashionistas were the main crowd of this event.

What do you think about Warhol's early work?
